Hard to see from the road

I don't know how to rate a cemetery, but it is quiet, historical, and not in good shape. That does give it a very creepy feel which some people appreciate about a cemetery. As you look at the different grave stones you will see many familiar names from around Wyckoff and Northern NJ such as: Ackerman, Blauvelt, Demarest, and Hopper. There are people buried there who fought in the Civil War and even the Revolutionary War back when it was called the Van Blarcom (Family) Cemetery. Through the years some of the gravestones have fallen apart, but you can still recognize some from the early 1800s.

It is a little difficult to find, but the entrance is between two houses on Franklin Ave where there is a small sign and a dirt "road" (path) through the woods. The path goes right between some houses so be respectful of the owners and stay on the path. The cemetery is not in great shape, but the Wyckoff Historical Society does do work there when they can. Contact them with any questions or if you would like to help with the cleanup.
